As each site and excavation circumstance is unique, variations on the columns (fields) is acceptable, as long as the catalog includes: a unique number for each specimen, provenience information, and a description of each artifact. Additional data is very useful to future researchers, and is usually available based on the final site report submitted by the CRM firm.
